Flight to Phu Quoc

We woke up with a full agenda today. We had to buy goods at the store we found last night and ship a bunch of things before heading onto our flight. We had already decided the museum was out because it was unfortunately out of the way, and we didn't have space to fly with all the stuff we acquired.

We had a basic breakfast at our hostel and then made it to the shop Artisan Creations when they opened at 9am. We looked around, found some cool stuff, some beautiful stuff, and some fun stuff. Lots of crafts and cool things, but heavy things.

Once we finished with the shop (which actually took a good amount of time) we went back to our hostel to get the rest of the shipping stuff. We checked out, took a cab to DHL, and weighed our stuff to see the pricing. They only do express shipping to the US from Vietnam so it wasn't super cheap, but our stuff also wasn't super light. Between the both of us our stuff weighed over 13kg. Whoops.

After we had that all figured out, we were free! We still had some time until our 2:30 cab to the airport so on the way back to our hostel we stopped for lunch at a salad restaurant called Beet Salads. It's something you would find in Seattle, but much less expensive. We had a delicious chicken salad with a bunch of other vegetable goodies on top.

(The perfect portion according to Beet)

We continued until we saw our second Dunkin Donuts of the trip so I insisted Alex gets a picture with it.

(Girl loves her Dunkin)

She went inside to check out what it looks like, tried to take a picture of the donuts, and got yelled at and shooed out. It's not like a boutique art store where they need to protect the quality and originality of the donuts? It's a frocken chain coffee place. Just weird people I tell ya.

As our final stop before the hostel we sat down at our favorite ice cream place Fanny's. We realized their ice cream is actually more expensive than Molly Moons in Seattle and you get less ice cream. They're trying to be like the specialists in dessert or something, and don't get me wrong it's delicious, but that's a lot of Vietnamese money.

(Our ice cream had a hat...)

We RWC for awhile and then headed to the airport from our hostel. We had some terrible airport food (nasty tofu with poor veggies and rice) before seeing our flight get delayed. They typically get an afternoon storm still as we aren't quite in the clear for the dry season. It stopped about an hour later and we boarded the plane.

(Off brand of my favorite koala cookies)

We arrived into Phu Quoc island around 8 and went to grab our bags. Our cab driver was anxiously waiting for us, as he had probably been there an hour earlier expecting the flight to be on time.

(What most people put through instead of luggage. Not sure if that is their luggage or if they are just bringing goods with them)

We got to the resort about an hour later and were shown to our room. It's an amazing spot RIGHT on the beach. Literally 100 feet from the water. We got a beer from the restaurant on site and a
played some cribbage. When I went in to grab the cribbage board I broke the key...in the lock. They got it fixed, but the lady probably thought I was such a moron and she showed me how to lock and unlock the door when we went in for the night.

I honestly didn't turn it that hard and it just snapped off. I've turned keys a lot harder than that and they haven't broken. And I'm by even working out here.

Anyways, tired from traveling we called it a night around 11 and were looking forward to a beach day tomorrow.
